Overview:
? Responsible for the profitable operation of the company involving leadership of our team and the management of all the physical, human and financial assets in a manner consistent with the agreed annual budget and strategic direction within the framework of the Company culture, policies and procedures. This position is the senior manager in our China operating business and will take the lead in proposing the strategy and action programs for the growth and development of our business.
MAIN FUNCTIONS AND TASKS:
1. STRATEGIC DIRECTION LEADERSHIP – in liaison with Managing Director
? Participates in strategic and operational planning for the Company and how this feeds into and supports the strategy for the BR business as a whole. Provide input to BR strategic planning process from an International and China specific business perspective.
? Develops communicates and implements strategy for growth and profitability of BR Suzhou.
? Responsible for all aspects of leadership, establishing the vision and communicating clearly the direction, strategy and action plans for the China business to all staff.
? Sets both short and long term objectives ensuring the business remains on track in achieving these objectives. Examines economic and market trends and conditions as they effect the business. Assesses present and future needs, trends, problems and profit opportunities. Modifies plans to take full advantage of changing circumstances
? Develops the business into a market focused organization.
2. FINANCIAL AND CORPORATE – in liaison with Managing Director, Financial Controller and local team members.
? Responsible for the planning and development of financial budgets, operational plans and organizational structure to meet the required strategic objectives and operational targets.
? Manages and ensures the smooth running of the day to day operations of the company, ensuring overall budgeted profitability is achieved, taking corrective actions within established company policy.
? Establishes controls to measure organizational and employee performance at all levels. Identifies and recommends opportunities to improve the financial performance of BR Suzhou
? Reviews all payments including wages and salaries to ensure they are accurate and valid. Authorizes payments in electronic banking software. Approves capital expenditure within limits determined by the Board.
? Ensures the company is compliant with corporate affairs reporting, taxation legislation, labor laws and all forms of national, provincial and local authority rules and regulations that cover the operations of BR Suzhou
? Maintain effective working relationships with BRs legal and financial advisors.
? Liaise with IT in Australia to maximize performance of BR ICT systems in Suzhou.
? Identify potential risks and implement risk management strategies and actions necessary for the effective administration of BR Suzhou

POSITION SPECIFICATION
1. EXPERIENCE
? At least eight years managing a small company or division of larger company with manufacturing, sourcing, importing and exporting experience
? Western company experience and working across cultures
? China sales, market entry strategies and market development and commercial management experience

2. EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION
? Tertiary Qualification in either Engineering or other related discipline, or management.
? Tertiary training or qualification in management.
? Continuing update of knowledge of management techniques.
